What happens if I share my screen?
Absolutely nothing. Your screen share remains perfectly normal and readable. Flippa only intercepts
your webcam feed โ screen sharing uses a completely different system on macOS. If you share a
presentation, your colleagues see it exactly as-is. Your face in the corner stays corrected.
How is this different from "Mirror my video" in Zoom?
When you check "Mirror my video" in Zoom, it only flips the preview on your own screen. Everyone
else on the call still sees your un-mirrored face. Flippa works at the system level โ it mirrors the
actual feed that gets broadcasted to all participants, globally.
What if I need to show text to the camera?
Flippa includes a "Text Mode" hotkey. Press and hold โ + Shift + F to temporarily revert to the true
camera view so others can read what you're holding up. Release the keys and it snaps back to your
preferred mirrored feed.
Will this lag my video or break audio sync?
No. Flippa is built natively for macOS using Apple's Metal and CoreImage frameworks. The horizontal
flip runs directly on your GPU in real-time, resulting in near-zero latency. Your video and audio
stay perfectly in sync.
Does it work in Chrome, Safari, and native apps?
Yes. Because Flippa registers as a system-level virtual camera, your Mac treats it exactly like a
physical webcam. It appears in the camera dropdown of every app โ Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, Teams,
FaceTime, Chrome, Safari, and more.
Is my video data private?
100%. Flippa runs entirely locally on your Mac. We do not collect, store, or transmit any video
data. The app doesn't even require an internet connection to work. It's completely safe for
confidential business environments.
